SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

What should be your educational qualification and what should you have if you are applying for SSC’s any post. SSC categorized eligibility criteria for different category like GEN/SC/OBC/ST, Ex-service man, and Physical Handicapped. So read these topics carefully and match your educational qualification.

  • Candidates appearing for the examination must have passed minimum +2 or equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University.
  • Certificate obtained through open school/University must be recognized by Distance Education Council(DEC) IGNOU.
  • Candidates who are entitled for typing test/skill test are required to produce the original documents, cast certificate(if applicable).
  • Candidates who fails to produce the original documents, he/she will be rejected.
  • Candidates who wish to be considered under the reserved category or seeking age relaxation, he/she will have to submit required caste certificate from the competent authority, in a prescribed format at the time of Skill Test, otherwise, their claim for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex- Servicemen status will not be entertained and their applications will be considered under General category.
  • Candidates are warned that they may be permanently disqualified from appearing for the examination conducted by the SSC, in case they will be found claiming SC/ST/OBC/Ex- Servicemen/ PH status falsely.

Required age to apply for SSC CHSL exam is 18 to 27 years of age. Date of Birth proof will be provided with the help of 10th mark sheet.

To claim for reservation, the candidate must appear with all the required documents, properly attested and signed by the gazette officer, otherwise they will be counted under general category, and no relaxation will be given to those candidates.

SSC CHSL Nationality

Candidate willing to appear for this examination must be either

  • Citizen of India, or
  • Subject of Nepal, or
  • Subject of Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan who came over to India, before January 1, 1962, with the intentions of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin, who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intentions of permanently settling in India.

Upcoming SSC Jobs In 2017 – 2018

Candidates with any of the four categories rather than the Citizen of India, shall be the candidates in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
